GOVERNANCE & COMPANY STANDARDS

Policies built
for accountability.

Our public policy register explains how TECHRE UK approaches environmental responsibility, data security, quality, workplace safety, waste compliance and ethical business.

These summaries are designed to give customers and suppliers a clear view of our commitments. Controlled copies of approved policies, procedures and supporting records are available during onboarding or audit where appropriate.

OUR APPROACH

Clear commitments, backed by practical controls.

TECHRE UK handles physical assets, regulated waste streams and data-bearing equipment. Our policies therefore work as one connected framework: lawful waste handling supports environmental protection; controlled asset handling supports data security; documented processes support quality and customer confidence.

Responsibility for maintaining these policies sits with company leadership. They are reviewed when legislation, services, operating conditions or customer requirements materially change, and at planned intervals as part of the company’s developing management system.

01

ENVIRONMENTAL & ZERO LANDFILL POLICY

Reduce impact at every decision point.

TECHRE UK is committed to preventing avoidable environmental harm and keeping electronic equipment and recovered materials in productive use for as long as reasonably possible. We apply the waste hierarchy by prioritising prevention and reuse, followed by component recovery and responsible recycling. Disposal is treated as the final option.

Environmental considerations form part of material grading, collection planning, storage, processing and downstream selection. We aim to reduce unnecessary transport, prevent pollution, maintain suitable segregation and use authorised routes for material leaving our control.

  • Assess equipment for reuse before material recovery.
  • Segregate materials to protect value and prevent contamination.
  • Use authorised downstream partners and retain relevant records.
  • Monitor environmental incidents and act on improvement opportunities.
  • Work towards zero avoidable landfill from accepted technology.
02

REUSE & CIRCULARITY POLICY

Recover the highest responsible value first.

Our commercial model is designed to act as a filter before final refining. Assets are assessed for whole-unit reuse, refurbishment, parts harvesting and specialist resale before they are committed to material recovery. This supports longer product life, reduces demand for replacement manufacturing and can generate stronger supplier rebates.

Reuse is only selected where it is appropriate to the asset’s condition, legal status, data-security requirements and customer instructions. Equipment that cannot be safely or responsibly reused is directed into component or material recovery.

  • Separate reusable assets from genuine end-of-life material.
  • Protect data requirements before any resale decision.
  • Use condition, age, demand and safety to determine the route.
  • Provide outcome information where included in the agreed service.
03

DATA SECURITY & PRIVACY POLICY

Protect information throughout its lifecycle.

TECHRE UK recognises that customer information and data-bearing assets require controlled handling. We process personal data lawfully, fairly and only for defined business purposes. Access is limited to those who require it, and information is retained only for an appropriate operational, contractual or legal period.

Physical data-bearing assets are identified within the agreed collection and processing route. We take proportionate steps to prevent unauthorised access, loss, disclosure or accidental release and maintain an incident-response route for suspected data breaches.

  • Collect only information needed to deliver and evidence services.
  • Restrict access to business and asset information.
  • Use secure methods when sharing sensitive records.
  • Respond to data-subject requests in line with applicable law.
  • Report and investigate suspected security incidents promptly.

04

SECURE DATA DESTRUCTION POLICY

A defined outcome for every data-bearing asset.

Data destruction requirements are agreed before processing wherever possible. Media may be securely erased for reuse or physically destroyed when erasure is unsuitable, has failed, cannot be verified or does not meet the customer’s required outcome.

Certificates and item-level information are supplied where included within the service specification. Internal work instructions, security controls and destruction methods are controlled documents and are not published in operational detail on the public website.

  • Identify data-bearing equipment within the accepted load.
  • Match erasure or destruction to condition and customer requirements.
  • Separate failed or unsuitable media from reusable equipment.
  • Maintain agreed records and certificates of completed outcomes.
05

QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY

Consistent work, clear records and continual improvement.

We aim to deliver services that match agreed customer requirements, legal obligations and our own documented controls. Quality applies to quotations, grading, logistics, asset handling, data outcomes, paperwork, supplier payments and customer communication.

Errors, complaints and process failures are treated as opportunities to identify root causes and improve. TECHRE UK is developing its management system while working towards ISO 9001 and ISO 27001; these standards are not presented as completed certifications.

  • Confirm service scope and responsibilities before work begins.
  • Use repeatable grading and processing controls.
  • Correct inaccurate records or outcomes without unnecessary delay.
  • Review feedback, incidents and non-conformities.
  • Train team members for the tasks they perform.
06

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Everyone should leave work safely.

TECHRE UK accepts its responsibility to provide, so far as reasonably practicable, a safe working environment for employees, contractors, visitors and others affected by our activities. Risks are assessed and suitable controls are selected for handling, storage, loading, transport and processing activities.

Team members are expected to follow training and safe systems of work, use required protective equipment, report hazards and stop work where conditions create an immediate unacceptable risk.

  • Maintain risk assessments for relevant work activities.
  • Provide suitable equipment, instruction, training and supervision.
  • Inspect working areas and act on reported hazards.
  • Record and investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
  • Review emergency arrangements and first-aid provision.
07

WASTE ACCEPTANCE & COMPLIANCE POLICY

Know the material before it moves.

Waste and equipment are reviewed before acceptance to establish their description, quantity, likely classification, data considerations, packaging and transport needs. TECHRE UK may reject, quarantine or reclassify material that does not match the agreed description or cannot be managed safely within the authorised route.

Waste Transfer Notes or Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes are used where applicable. Batteries, hazardous components and contamination require suitable segregation and may affect collection, pricing or acceptance.

  • Obtain sufficient information before confirming a movement.
  • Use appropriate EWC codes and documentation.
  • Keep materials within authorised storage and treatment limits.
  • Prevent prohibited or misdescribed material entering the process.
  • Maintain traceability to approved downstream routes.
08

ETHICAL BUSINESS, ANTI-BRIBERY & MODERN SLAVERY

Commercially ambitious, ethically controlled.

TECHRE UK conducts business honestly and does not tolerate bribery, corruption, fraudulent grading, improper payments, forced labour or exploitation. Commercial decisions should be based on legitimate factors such as material value, service requirements, risk, volume and market conditions.

We expect suppliers and downstream partners to comply with applicable law and to raise concerns where conduct may be unsafe, unlawful or unethical. Concerns can be reported directly to company leadership without fear of retaliation for a genuine report.

09

EQUALITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION POLICY

Respect is a basic operating standard.

Employment, supplier and customer decisions are made fairly and without unlawful discrimination. We aim to provide a respectful environment in which people are treated with dignity regardless of protected characteristic, background or personal circumstance.

Bullying, harassment, victimisation and discriminatory behaviour are not accepted. Reasonable adjustments are considered where needed to enable safe and fair access to work or services.

10

COMPLAINTS & RESOLUTION POLICY

Raise it clearly. Resolve it properly.

Customers and suppliers can raise concerns by email or telephone. We acknowledge the issue, gather the relevant collection, grading, payment or processing records and provide a reasoned response. Where we have made an error, we aim to correct it promptly and prevent recurrence.

Complex complaints may require additional investigation, particularly where third-party logistics or downstream records are involved. We will keep the complainant informed when a final response cannot be provided immediately.
